NCH Crescendo Masters 6.40 is Windows music notation software for turning musical ideas into readable scores, guitar tabs and percussion parts. It suits hobby composers, songwriters and arrangers who want to write and print their music rather than work exclusively in a piano roll. This is a notation application, not a VST effect or synthesizer.
Build arrangements using treble, bass, alto or tenor clefs, with adjustable key and time signatures. Enter notes and rests, add accidentals, dotted rhythms, chords, ties and slurs, then mark repeats to structure your piece. Guitar tablature tools and drum templates support writing beyond standard pitched notation, while linked staves help organize ensemble scores.
Editing tools include pitch adjustment by dragging, measure-level copy and paste, zoom controls and keyboard shortcuts for switching between notes and rests. You can also add titles, lyrics, tempo indications and dynamics.
Audition your writing through MIDI playback, with support for VSTi instruments, or export a MIDI file for further production work. When the arrangement is ready, print the finished score or blank manuscript sheets for handwritten notation.
