Objekt is a physical modeling synthesizer from Reason Studios that builds acoustic-style sounds from scratch rather than replaying samples. At its core are three resonating objects—think of them as the body of a string, bell, skin or percussion instrument—set in motion by an Exciter section that ranges from a short stick impact to a wash of noisy static. Because everything is generated in real time, the results feel dynamic, playable and easy to shape, and it stays light on your CPU. Over 500 patches cover bells, mallets, percussion, stringed instruments and textures, while a randomizer lets you nudge a preset or morph it somewhere new. You can even feed external audio into the resonators for vocoder-like effects. It suits producers who want organic, unusual tones for ambient, cinematic, electronic and soundtrack work, and requires Reason 10.1 or later.
