Obsidian is a dark cinematic instrument for the free Raizes Player, built by ZAK Sound. Its 30 presets focus on brooding drones, smoky pads, low textures, and slow-burning motion, made from layered sampled textures and glassy wavetables. Long attacks and releases let sounds emerge and fade gradually, while saturation, bit-crushing, modulation, and evolving stereo movement add character beneath sustained notes. You get deep harmonic movement, filtered lows, granular edges, and spacious reverb for tension and atmosphere. It suits dark ambient, suspense and horror scoring, dramatic underscore, trailers, transitions, and introspective passages—weighty without overwhelming.
