OhmForce Hematohm is a frequency-shifting effect for producers who want to reshape audio into metallic, dissonant or animated textures. Unlike a pitch shifter, which preserves the ratios between harmonics, a frequency shifter offsets frequencies by a fixed amount. The result can resemble ring modulation, but offers a different approach to changing a sound’s tonal character.
Alongside its main shifting section, Hematohm includes an envelope follower that lets the incoming signal influence the effect. An LFO provides ten waveforms, including three randomized shapes, for modulation that can move beyond predictable repeating cycles. A built-in delay can be routed into the forward signal path or restricted to the feedback path, giving you another way to shape the processing.
Hematohm is aimed at hobby producers and sound designers exploring unusual treatments for loops, synth parts and other audio. It is particularly useful when you want a sound to become less harmonically familiar rather than simply higher or lower in pitch. The supplied release details list Windows v1.47 and macOS v1.48; check the available installer and host compatibility before downloading.
