Orakle X

Orakle X by MNTRA Instruments is a cinematic instrument built around rare acoustic sources and unconventional playing techniques. Its palette ranges from thunderous horns and distinctive percussion to flute clusters, overtone vocals, bowed metal and extended string harmonics. Rather than aiming for a traditional orchestral sound, it delivers textured, evolving performances with plenty of character for dark scores, atmospheric tracks and experimental sound design. Recorded at Montreal’s RCA Victor studio, the collection captures the detailed resonances of instruments gathered by composer and MNTRA founder Brian D’Oliveira. Within MNTRA’s MNDALA engine, these recordings become material for further transformation: flute tones can take on the weight of industrial drones, while rich strings can turn into ambient pads.
