Soundtoys PanMan is a rhythmic auto-panning effect that turns static tracks into moving stereo performances. Use it for gentle side-to-side motion, tightly timed pan sequences or wide, swirling sweeps across drums, vocals and synths. Step mode assigns pan positions to beats in sync with your host, while Shape mode provides ready-made curves and lets you draw your own movement. For patterns that react to the performance, audio-triggered panning responds to incoming dynamics, with filtering to focus the trigger on low- or high-frequency events. A trigger divider determines how many events pass before the pan position changes, opening up less predictable rhythmic ideas. Seven analog modes add saturation when driven, bringing extra colour alongside the motion. PanMan suits producers who want anything from subtle stereo animation to expressive, rhythm-led effects without relying solely on manual pan automation.
