Soundiron Petroglyph brings the rough, tactile character of ancient stone tools into a playable Kontakt percussion library. Recorded from pre-Columbian North American artifacts, its sounds span weighty thuds, gritty scrapes, delicate clicks and glassy clinks, with materials ranging from obsidian and granite to slate and animal bone. Across 100 sound sets, each velocity layer offers 8–10 round-robin variations for natural variation in repeated hits. Use it to add unusual rhythmic accents to electronic tracks, build organic percussion parts or create distinctive game and interface sound effects. Producers and sound designers can shape each hit with envelope, transient and resonant filter controls, then develop patterns using the built-in arpeggiator and step-sequencing options. A DSP effects rack with convolution reverb takes these raw recordings into realistic spaces or stranger territory. Petroglyph includes 2,292 samples and seven presets, and requires the full version of Kontakt 5.5 or later.
