Planet 808

Planet 808 by Niche Audio is an 808 drum sample expansion built around recordings of an original Roland TR-808. Rather than offering only isolated drum hits, it brings together cohesive kits with samples processed in context for a punchy, modern sound. Multiple tuning and decay settings capture the machine’s character, while three untreated kits preserve its classic tone. The collection includes thirteen kits plus two specialist kits focused on percussion and deep subs. Retuned kicks, toms and congas extend its range into bass lines, tribal grooves and melodic percussion. Designed for Maschine 2 and Ableton Live, with additional patches for other software samplers, Planet 808 suits producers working in house, techno, hip-hop, R&B and bass-driven electronic music. Four starter patterns per kit provide a useful starting point for building grooves.
