Planet 909

Planet 909 by Niche Audio is a drum sample collection built around the unmistakable character of the 909, with hardware processing that pushes beyond straightforward drum-machine recordings. Expect punchy hits, saturated textures and deeper, moodier tones shaped through mixing consoles, EQ and compressors. The collection includes sounds processed with boutique equipment alongside a kit routed through a budget Mackie mixer associated with 1990s dance production. An unprocessed kit is also included for producers who prefer to shape their own sound. Recorded at 96 kHz before downsampling, the samples avoid loudness limiting and are set at -4 dB to leave room for further processing. Fully tagged samples help Maschine users assemble custom kits, while Ableton users can build their own combinations. It suits electronic producers looking for characterful 909 drums for dance tracks, gritty grooves and atmospheric beats.
