PortaTwin is a cassette channel strip plugin modelled on the Tascam Porta Two, a 1987 four-track recorder known for its early-clipping preamp, wobbly transport and hissy tape. It recreates the full signal chain: PREAMP CLEAN or HOT modes that colour and saturate at different input levels, TAPE DRIVE for printing hotter with increasing distortion, and a BIAS control that shifts the sound from grainy and bright to dark. Wow and flutter with random drift, a four-component hiss model filtered by head bandwidth, and an AGE macro from pristine to destroyed let you dial in anything from subtle analog glue to full lo-fi destruction.
