PSP Wobbler is a modulation effect plugin that recreates the Frequency Translator, a handmade device used by Alan Parsons on Pink Floyd’s “Time.” It uses frequency shifting to produce non-harmonic phase differences, creating a wobble that blends phasing, flanging, and rotating speaker textures. Beyond the original, it adds Drive and Age for saturation, Ageing modes, Feedback, thermal and voltage Drift, Phase, and stereo Spread. Two EQ filters shape the effect’s frequency range, and the shift amount can sync to tempo or stay fixed. Use it to add movement to pads, guitars, keys, or vocals, or to create evolving, psychedelic textures. It suits producers and sound designers looking for a distinctive modulation tool that goes beyond typical chorus or flanger effects.
