Puremagnetik Fog is a granular sampler and sound-design plugin for turning short audio recordings into slowly evolving textures, shimmering atmospheres, and sustained drones. It suits hobby producers and sound designers who want to reshape incoming audio into ambient layers rather than build sounds from scratch.

Fog captures up to 11 seconds of audio, then processes that recording with granular time-stretching and pitch shifting. The result passes through an algorithmic space section with separate Depth and Tone controls. Set Depth to zero to focus on the granular processing, or push it to its maximum for an endless drone. This makes it useful for both textured details and long, continuous backgrounds.

A variable filter at the end of the signal path offers low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass modes. Use it alongside the space section’s Tone control to shape the output’s brightness and frequency balance. Automating these controls in your DAW adds movement over time, helping a held texture develop throughout an arrangement. The straightforward interface keeps the process focused on sampling, stretching, and shaping.
