Red Rock Sound Passive EQ Collection brings three vintage-style equalizers to Windows production setups in VST2 and VST3 formats. It suits hobby producers and mix engineers who want broad tonal shaping for vocals, guitars and other mix elements, with tools for stereo, mid/side and immersive audio workflows.
The EQP-1A draws on a 1960s program equalizer design, including its transformer and tube amplifier stages. Its ability to boost and attenuate the same frequency area lets you create a resonant shelf rather than a simple shelving curve. For more focused midrange work, the MEQ-5 offers two boost bands and one dip band, making it useful for adjusting the presence and body of guitars and vocals.
Rounding out the collection, the HLF-3C provides low-cut and high-cut filters with 12 dB-per-octave slopes. Use it to narrow a sound’s bandwidth, remove unwanted extremes or create a deliberately retro tone without the insertion loss of the original unamplified passive hardware. The collection also supports work with objects and fixed-channel beds in immersive mixes.
