Rob Papen RG is a rhythm guitar instrument that combines sampled electric and acoustic guitars with a sequencer, synth-style shaping and effects. Trigger grooves with a single keyboard note, using separate major and minor chord ranges and A/B sequence variations. Its guitar selection covers clean Stratocaster tones, steel-string acoustic patterns in eighth- and sixteenth-note styles, distorted power chords and muted single-note grooves. Keep things natural for rhythmic backing parts, or reshape the samples with an analog-modeled filter, LFO, envelopes and modulation for more experimental textures. Up to three effects can run together, with options including tempo-based delays, chorus, speaker simulation, phaser and flanger. RG suits producers who want playable guitar accompaniment without recording a guitarist, as well as electronic musicians looking for guitar-driven patterns with a synthesized edge. NKS compatibility is also included.
