Ribs

Ribs by Hvoya Audio is a granular instrument and effect for producers who want to reshape audio into playable textures, intricate rhythms and unusual vocal-like sounds. NOTES mode lets you perform as a monophonic or polyphonic synth, while SIMPLE mode offers precise playhead control for vinyl-style scratching. Switch to BEAT mode to build complex polyrhythms with custom grain sizes, or explore transitions between rhythmic patterns and harmonic material. Its polyphonic FX operation and formant filter open up further sound-design possibilities, including vocoder-like processing. Every control supports MIDI automation, making Ribs a flexible choice for experimental beatmakers and hands-on electronic musicians. Captured audio cannot currently be saved or loaded, so recording your performance is recommended. Buffers normally require MIDI notes to fill; the FX button provides an alternative when your host cannot route audio and MIDI to the same track.
