WetDelay is a free VST3 plugin that recreates the sound of a vintage 80s digital delay rack unit. It outputs only the delayed signal (100% wet), making it ideal for parallel processing or send effects in your DAW. You get six fixed delay times (20, 40, 80, 120, 220, and 400 ms) and independent left/right channel processing for wide stereo effects. The internal 24 kHz sample rate, 12-bit quantization, and TPDF dithering produce a gritty, band-limited character with audible warmth. Additional filtering (80 Hz high-pass and 9 kHz low-pass) and -40 dB channel crosstalk add to the retro vibe. Real-time peak meters show input and output levels, and full VST3 automation lets you control parameters from your DAW. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. This plugin suits hobby producers and musicians making lo-fi, synthwave, ambient, or any style that benefits from a characterful, lo-fi delay. Note: on macOS, you may need to remove the quarantine attribute via Terminal before the plugin loads.
