RUE Oppressor is a free frequency-dependent sidechain compressor designed to carve space in a mix for a specific track, similar to Trackspacer. It suits hobby producers using FL Studio, Ableton or Logic who want to duck only the frequencies that clash, freeing headroom without heavy manual EQ. Version 1.5 adds a second detection engine: the original 32-band multiband mode with zero added latency, and a new FFT Spectral mode that carves more cleanly and uses less CPU but introduces 1024–8192 samples of latency depending on resolution. Controls include threshold and effect amount, Smooth to merge bands, Curve to bias active bands toward the highs, sidechain low/high-cut filters, and attack/release with a new Tilt knob that makes highs react up to 8x faster than lows. You can disable the internal sidechain to duck a signal against itself, and use independent M/S or L/R processing with Link and Balance. Delta and sidechain Listen monitoring help set it up, and the interface is now resizable.
