SampleRoll DRFT is a VST3 effect for Windows that turns your audio into a damaged VHS/CRT signal. Six knobs—BURN, DRIFT, BEND, DROPOUT, WASH, and NOISE—shape tape wow, head burn, tracking wash, dropouts, and snow. What makes it different is the CRT display: drop in a video, GIF, or still, or use a live camera feed, and the picture reacts to the same knobs as the sound. Dropouts tear both audio and video at the same instant, so it’s not a visualizer guessing along. The FIELD page generates 23 patterns (flow, plasma, tunnel, kaleido, and more) that can be blended with your footage. The CIRCUIT page adds six more knobs to damage the screen itself—deflection coil, colour reference failure, and waveform injection. PAINT redraws a buffer into itself, letting transients stamp marks that smear and rotate over time. The REC button exports an MP4 that matches what you saw, in 16:9, 9:16, or ultrawide. It’s aimed at hobby producers making lo-fi, glitch, or experimental tracks who want a visual edge without leaving their DAW.
