SampleScience Analog Waveforms is a free sample-based synth instrument built from recordings of the Dave Smith Instruments Mopho. It gives hobby producers a straightforward way to use analog synth tones for bass lines, leads, chords, and sustained parts without recording hardware.
The sound library contains four waveform choices: sawtooth, triangle, saw-triangle, and a pulse wave with a 40% pulse width. Each note was recorded individually over seven octaves, using 10-second samples rather than stretching a small set of recordings across the keyboard. Looped sustain sections let notes continue while you hold the keys.
Sound-shaping tools include a multi-LFO, filtering, amplitude range controls, and room reverb. Polyphonic, monophonic, and legato modes let you switch between chord playing and single-note performances. The underlying audio uses 16-bit, 44.1 kHz mono WAV files, and the samples are also available separately in the public domain.
Analog Waveforms suits FL Studio and Ableton Live users on Windows, with macOS plugin versions also available for compatible hosts such as Logic Pro.
