SampleScience Sitar Renaissance is a sample-based virtual instrument built from a restored recording of a damaged plucked sitar. Spectral repair, noise reduction and manual pitch correction give the original material a distinctive character rather than presenting a pristine traditional sitar library. It suits hobby producers looking for plucked melodies, rhythmic phrases or an unusual acoustic texture in their tracks.
The plugin edition contains one multisampled instrument with a separate sample for every note. A multi-LFO, room reverb, lowpass and highpass filtering, and amplitude range controls provide ways to shape the sound. Polyphonic, monophonic and legato voice modes support different playing styles, while low CPU usage makes it practical alongside other instruments in a session.
Features vary by edition. The Decent Sampler version uses the same sounds with a different set of effects and shaping options. The Kontakt edition offers amplitude and filter ADSR envelopes plus reverb, and requires the latest updated full version of Kontakt 5 or 6. Windows producers should choose the edition that matches their sampler and DAW setup.
