SampleScience Stylo Synthesis is a sampled virtual instrument that brings the distinctive sound of a 1960s stylophone into your DAW. It suits hobby producers looking for retro electronic tones, simple melodic hooks, or an alternative to conventional synth leads.
The instrument uses a separate five-second recording for every note. These longer samples retain the small pitch and tonal irregularities of the original hardware, rather than reducing its character to a short, static snippet. They also preserve the way each note starts and holds, giving sustained parts a less uniform feel.
Sound-shaping tools include a multi-LFO, lowpass and highpass filtering, amplitude range controls, and room reverb. Choose polyphonic mode for chords, monophonic mode for single-note lines, or legato mode for connected phrases. Low CPU usage makes it a practical addition to existing projects.
The Windows plugin requires a 64-bit VST or VST3 host and Windows 8.1, 10, or 11, making it suitable for compatible FL Studio and Ableton Live setups. A separate Kontakt edition requires the full version of Kontakt, not the free Kontakt Player.
