Secco Strings by Ben Osterhouse turns recorded violin, viola, cello and bass into playable patterns and evolving textures. Three articulations—Pizzicato, Peck and Bounce—provide short, characterful string sounds for rhythmic arrangements, experimental layers and cinematic accents. Choose Single Notes mode for individually configured steps, Rhythm mode for sequenced movement with adjustable timing and jitter, or Texture mode for animated swarms driven by bouncing, interacting steps. An automatable XY pad shapes panning, reverse playback, formant and octave, while a dedicated tone pad blends four pizzicato layers. Global envelope controls, low cut, saturation and eight convolution reverbs help fit the results into your mix. Ready-made presets offer starting points, and Kontakt 6 users can load their own samples into four slots. It suits producers and composers who want acoustic string character with hands-on rhythmic and textural control.
