Soraboy is a free pulse-wave synthesizer for producers who want Nintendo Game Boy-inspired tones in their tracks. Its focused sound engine suits chiptune writing, retro game-style melodies, and electronic productions that need a simple, bright synth voice without a large instrument library.
The oscillator offers four pulse-width settings: 12.5%, 25%, 50%, and 75%. Switch between them to change the tone, or use the Pulsate button to cycle through the available widths. Pitch bend and vibrato provide movement, while the envelope includes starting-amplitude and fade-in/out controls. For patterned melodic parts, the Chord arpeggiator takes inspiration from LSDJ’s C command. There is also a Plok button for its own distinctive sound, plus 13 included presets to help you get started.
Ctrl-clicking a control restores its default setting, making experimentation easier. Soraboy v1.0.0 runs on Windows 10 or later and requires a 64-bit VST3-compatible host. It is suitable for Windows setups using FL Studio or Ableton Live; this version is not compatible with Logic Pro.
