Slate Digital Fresh Air is a dynamic high-frequency processor for producers who want more presence and sparkle from vocals, drums, or a full mix. Drawing on vintage exciter circuits, including designs inspired by modified Dolby-A noise reduction, it combines excitation with dynamics processing to bring out upper-frequency detail while aiming to keep the result smooth rather than brittle.
The interface centers on two controls: Mid Air and High Air. These let you adjust the added brightness quickly, making Fresh Air approachable for hobby producers who prefer listening and tweaking over navigating complex settings. Use it on an individual track that needs extra definition, or apply it across the mix bus for a broader lift in clarity.
For Windows setups, Fresh Air supports 64-bit VST2, VST3, and AAX hosts, including compatible versions of FL Studio and Ableton Live. The listed requirements are Windows 10, an Intel or AMD processor, and 4 GB of RAM. An iLok USB dongle is not required, but using iLok Cloud requires an internet connection.
