Softstruck

Softstruck by Sonora Cinematic is a cinematic guitar instrument that applies the felt piano concept to guitar. Instead of muting the strings at the bridge, the team used ultra-soft felt picks to create a brushed, blurred tone that feels nostalgic, dark, and intimately textured. Three distinct guitars were sampled: a bright scooped clean, a dark chambered model with flatwound strings, and a bassy singlecut. Each was recorded through two amps and two pedalboard chains, one lush and ambient, the other experimental. The Select series processing includes White Cloud reverb, Blue Signal diffused ambience, and Pink Signal granular reverb, plus a Double Track switch for wide stereo. With 51 presets, Softstruck suits film composers, ambient producers, and songwriters seeking expressive, muted guitar textures for emotional cues and delicate arrangements.
