Soul Town

Soul Town by DopeSONIX brings the character of 1960s Detroit soul into a straightforward VST/AU instrument for Windows and Mac. Its collection of 20 classic instruments and effects includes MKI and MKII electric pianos, B-series organ, intimate strings and vintage bass guitar patches. Recorded, EQ’d and mixed for a warm, period-inspired sound, these tones fit soulful chord progressions, melodic basslines and sample-based beats. The live-recorded keyboard instruments offer up to five velocity layers for expressive playing, while the strings favour a smaller soul ensemble over cinematic orchestration. Bass sounds range from biting precision-style tones to smoother jazz-style textures. It’s a practical choice for soul, funk, R&B and hip-hop producers who want to add their own musical parts alongside vintage samples.
