Sound Like Nevermind – Kontakt

Capture the raw, stadium-sized drum sound of Nirvana’s Nevermind with this Kontakt instrument. Just Add Drums has meticulously recreated the signature reverbs used by mixer Andy Wallace, emulating the Lexicon 480L and PCM90 on dedicated Short and Long Verb faders, plus the white noise snare layer. Two extra microphones—a Shure Beta 91A on kick and a Beyerdynamic M201 on snare—add tonal versatility beyond the original sessions. The kit features a Yamaha Recording Custom Birch kit, Tama Bell Brass snare, and Zildjian A Custom cymbals, with 6-7 velocity layers and 8 round robins for natural, dynamic playing. A streamlined master section gives quick access, while deep customisation lets you shape kick, snare, toms, and cymbals individually. With multiple articulations, multi-output routing, and MIDI mapping, this is ideal for rock, grunge, and alternative producers seeking punchy, crystal-clear drums that cut through heavy guitars.
