BufferCareler is a free analog buffer and cable simulation plugin that recreates the subtle electrical interactions often lost when recording directly or using a wireless system. It models the complete buffer signal path, including input loading, buffering, coupling capacitance, active-device color, protection-stage nonlinearity, bandwidth, output impedance, and cable capacitance. You can choose from eight buffer voicings and nine active-device characters (transistor, FET, transformer, and op-amp styles), switch between passive and active input, and simulate cable lengths of 1, 3, 5, or 10 meters—or no cable at all. A trim control adjusts input level from -24 to +24 dB, while gain sets the output stage from -12 to +18 dB. Fixed 4x oversampling keeps nonlinear stages smooth, and stereo processing includes parameter smoothing. Whether you’re a guitarist using a wireless rig, a producer tracking DI, or anyone working in the box who misses the tone of a real cable, BufferCareler lets you restore that cable-induced character. It works as a VST3 or AU plugin on Windows and macOS, and integrates with FL Studio, Ableton, and Logic.
