SoundThread is a free, cross-platform interface for the Composers Desktop Project (CDP) suite of sound manipulation tools. It provides a node-based patching system that lets you route over 100 time-domain and frequency-domain processes in parallel, mix their outputs, and automate parameters using drawn automation that generates breakpoint files. The tool accepts mono or stereo input and automatically splits and merges files as needed. Threads can be saved and reloaded, and a recycle output button lets you reuse results for further processing. Built-in tutorials, help tooltips, and detailed documentation make it approachable for those new to experimental sound design. SoundThread is ideal for hobby music producers using FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic on Windows who want to explore complex sound manipulation without deep CDP knowledge. Note that CDP itself must be installed; it is included for macOS and Windows, while Linux users need to compile CDP separately. The software is currently in beta but stable enough for practical use.
