SSi Pro Expander and Gate by Minimal System Group is a Windows-only dynamics effect for cleaning up recordings and shaping their impact. Its analogue-modelled processing combines expansion and gating with tube gain, making it useful for both practical noise control and creative sound design. Use the expander to increase dynamic range, adjust threshold and ratio to shape its response, or give a bass line a more percussive feel. The gate cuts off signals below its threshold and lets them through when they rise above it, helping keep unwanted hum and background noise under control. With 10 presets to help you get started and very low CPU usage, it suits home producers refining individual tracks as well as engineers working on demanding mixes.
