AudioThing Strings is a sampled instrument collection for the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt, turning acoustic string sources into synth tones, pads, soundscapes, drones, and effects. Its raw material comes from five distinctive instruments: a Tenayo autoharp, Romanian toy harp, Baton Rouge soprano ukulele, Chinese violin, and Squier bass. Rather than focusing only on traditional string parts, this collection offers textures for atmospheric tracks, ambient arrangements, and experimental productions. The library contains 50 Kontakt instruments and 50 samples recorded at 44.1 kHz/24-bit, with Kontakt and WAV formats included in a compact 158 MB package. Modulation wheel assignments vary by patch, giving you different parameters to explore as you play. Strings suits producers looking for string-derived sounds beyond a conventional orchestral palette. It requires the full Kontakt engine and is a software library, not a physical instrument.
