Rob Papen SubBoomBass 2 is a bass synthesizer for producers who want deep foundations and more adventurous textures in one instrument. It combines analogue-modelled waveforms with spectrum waveforms, creative samples and Karplus-Strong string synthesis, giving you scope for classic synth bass, plucked tones and unusual sound design. Granular sample resynthesis adds another way to reshape its sample material, while filters, post-filter distortion and modulation effects help define the character. Build rhythmic parts with the sequencer’s ratcheting feature, or use pattern mode to run four sequences. An X/Y screen supports hands-on control, and the resizable interface makes editing more comfortable. With new sounds alongside all original SubBoomBass presets, plus a favourites-enabled Bank Manager, it suits hobby producers exploring contemporary tracks, video game music and film scores without always starting from scratch.
