Superlunar EM-900 is a digital sampler emulator plugin that recreates the sound of 17 classic samplers from the 1980s and 1990s. It models DAC circuits, low-pass filter topologies, and signal characteristics to deliver warm, crunchy, lo-fi character. You get the SP-1200’s grit and aliasing, the MPC60’s deep low end, the S950’s steep analog filter, and the Casio SK-1’s toy-like texture. The plugin also lets you recreate the aliasing artifacts of the 90s hip-hop detuning technique and apply the S950/S1000-style timestretch for metallic, phasey, stuttering effects. Every sampler and filter is modular, so you can pair the SP-1200’s aggressive DAC with the S950’s filter, run MPC60 bit crushing through the Emax’s ladder, or stack aliasing on any combination.
