SWAMPS – Stereo

SWAMPS – Stereo is a field-recorded sound library that captures the raw, living acoustics of Florida wetlands. Over three years and two expeditions, recordist Matt Mikkelsen used SCHOEPS microphones and calibrated ORTF 3D arrays to document frogs calling at varying distances, alligator territorial bellows, wading birds feeding, dense insect beds, and the subtle squelch of reeds and mud. These clean, unprocessed recordings preserve natural dynamics and spatial accuracy, giving you a reliable foundation for immersive atmosphere building, realistic post-production, and creative sound design. Because no noise reduction or heavy processing is baked in, the material responds predictably to your own EQ, dynamics, and spatial treatment. Ideal for hobbyist producers and sound designers working on film, games, ambient music, or any project that needs authentic, tension-filled swamp ambience. The library delivers the sound of a habitat in constant tension—where land and water overlap and even silence seems to move.
