AudioThing SX1500 is a Kontakt synth instrument built from sampled waveforms of the Jen SX1000, an Italian analog synthesizer from 1979. Rather than recreating the hardware exactly, it combines its vintage character with a two-oscillator design and additional sound-shaping options. Saw, square and narrow pulse waveforms sit alongside white and pink noise, a 12 dB/oct filter, a sine LFO, two envelopes and an arpeggiator. Oscillator drift adds tuning instability, while simulated dusty-knob noise brings an extra touch of old-hardware personality. Use it for retro-inspired basses, melodic leads and rhythmic synth patterns, or explore the 24 factory presets as starting points. With room for 24 user presets saved through the Kontakt interface, SX1500 suits producers who enjoy tweaking compact synths without an overwhelming control set. It requires the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt; this is a software instrument, not hardware.
