ToneZ is a free virtual synthesizer focused on EDM sound design, with tools for building thick leads and spacious pads. It suits hobby producers who want to shape their own electronic sounds using oscillator layering, detuning and modulation.
The synth provides four oscillators and a selection of twelve morphable waveforms, spanning familiar shapes and less conventional options. Detune and width controls help turn those starting points into fuller textures, making the oscillator section useful for both prominent melodies and broad background layers.
For movement and articulation, ToneZ includes four envelopes with linear and exponential curves, plus two LFOs offering six waveform shapes. A modulation matrix lets you route the available modulation sources to different parameters, giving you control over how a patch changes over time.
For Windows-based FL Studio and Ableton Live users, ToneZ is an option worth exploring when an EDM project needs a dedicated synth for layered tones and evolving modulation.
