The Ronroco

The Ronroco is a Kontakt instrument library that brings the warm, deep voice of this South American charango relative into your productions. Created by film composer Guillermo Guareschi, it pairs detailed recordings of a handmade ronroco with tools for melodic writing, rhythmic accompaniment and cinematic atmosphere. Long notes feature round-robin sampling and three dynamic levels, while staccato, pull-off, mordente and tremolo articulations add expressive variety. Explore arpeggio patterns, chords and strums to build flowing arrangements, or use the soundscape menu for expansive background textures. For a different character, Rontoor captures strings struck with a metal wand, alongside unusual playing effects. Recorded using vintage valve equipment, modern preamps and a purpose-built echo chamber, The Ronroco suits film and game composers, ambient producers and musicians seeking organic plucked strings with plenty of personality.
