Xenia is a free software synthesizer that emulates the Waldorf Microwave XT wavetable synth. Built by The Usual Suspects using their DSP56300 emulation technology, it recreates the sound and character of the original hardware for your DAW. It’s aimed at hobby producers who want classic wavetable tones without buying vintage gear. The plugin supports VST2, VST3, AU, and CLAP formats on macOS, with the source also indicating Windows and Linux builds. Version 1.4.4 adds loading patches with custom waves and wavetables, a Wave Editor for creating and exporting custom waves and control tables, and fixes for memory reorganization and MIDI parameter updates. Earlier updates improved the skinning system, patch manager stability, and MIDI clock behavior. The package includes required ROM files, all plugin versions, a manual, and several factory banks from Waldorf. Two ROM files must be present for Xenia to operate.
