Tone Empire TM700 is a tape saturation and compression effect for producers who want softer transients and analog-style coloration on individual tracks or full mixes. Its machine-learning model is based on a vintage American quarter-inch, two-track tape machine using SM9 tape, capturing the tonal response and distortion behavior of that recording setup.

The controls let you shape saturation and compression together, making it straightforward to adjust how much tape character you add. Two bias settings and a choice of 15 ips or 7.5 ips tape speeds offer different tonal options. A dedicated two-track mode introduces channel-to-channel differences and crosstalk to recreate the stereo behavior of a physical tape machine.

TM700 was sampled at 192 kHz, and its processing model upsamples and runs at that rate internally. Available for Windows in VST3 and AAX formats, it suits hobby producers, musicians, and mix engineers working in compatible hosts such as FL Studio or Ableton Live.
