AudioThing Toy Bars brings the bright, playful character of a small toy glockenspiel into Kontakt. Sampled from an instrument played with chunky keys, it offers a charming alternative to polished orchestral bells for delicate melodies, quirky hooks, and light percussion parts. Condenser and binaural microphone recordings capture different perspectives, while five round-robin repetitions add variation to repeated notes. Separately sampled key-release noises let you choose how much mechanical character accompanies your playing. Beyond the pitched bars, hits on the back of the plastic case and slowed-down samples provide extra textures to explore. With eight Kontakt instruments and 102 samples recorded at 44.1 kHz/24-bit, Toy Bars suits producers and composers looking for an intimate, unusual melodic instrument. Kontakt and WAV formats are included; the Kontakt instruments require the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt.
