Its modeled signal path pairs a Baxandall three-band EQ with two 12AX7 preamp stages, letting you shape the tone before pushing it into saturation. Keep the Drive control low for gentle warmth, or turn it up for more pronounced tube distortion on guitars, drums, and other recordings. Drive also reduces output gain as input gain rises, making distortion adjustments easier to manage. Engage FAT mode for extra gain and saturation, or bypass the EQ when you only want the preamp coloration. With mono and stereo operation, analog-style metering, and no added latency, it suits producers who enjoy hands-on tone shaping. The trade-off is substantial CPU demand, so a capable computer is recommended.
