Tube-Tech SMC 2B

The Tube-Tech SMC 2B from Softube is a meticulous emulation of the renowned three-band opto compressor, delivering mastering-grade tube fidelity and exceptional multiband versatility. It lets you apply compression to specific frequency ranges, making it ideal for controlling transients on acoustic guitar, taming problematic vocal frequencies, or isolating the snap of a snare on a drum bus. Use it on mix buses, vocal buses, drum buses, and bass buses to achieve a polished, professional sound. Softube’s engineers went to extraordinary lengths—even modeling the hardware in complete darkness to capture the photosensitive optical components accurately—to ensure the plugin behaves and sounds like the original. This tool suits hobby producers and engineers who want iconic high-fidelity compression and the flexibility of multiband processing in their mixes.
