Type B

AudioThing Type B is a vintage-style exciter plugin that brings presence and brightness to vocals, instruments and dull recordings. Rather than simply boosting existing treble, it combines filtering with harmonic generation to create additional high-frequency content, then blends that signal with your dry audio. The Color control shapes the generated harmonics, helping you tailor the effect to the track. For deeper adjustments, an expandable panel offers highpass or bandpass filtering, selectable slopes, emphasis and the option to place the filter before or after the harmonic generator. Adjustable unit noise lets you control the background character, while oversampling up to 16x provides additional processing flexibility. With a resizable interface, light and dark modes, and a preset randomizer, Type B suits producers who want vintage-inspired enhancement with more control over the circuit’s behavior.
