Udongo

Udongo is a Kontakt instrument that captures the earthy, tactile sound of a clay percussion idiophone played with the hands. Blending a ceramic udu with bongo-style design, its two cavities are connected by a channel that enriches the sonic texture with deep, resonant tones and organic overtones. The library includes 84 audio files and 1,144 Kontakt samples, with 8 microphone options for shaping the stereo image and room character. Ideal for producers seeking authentic world percussion, Udongo excels in ambient, cinematic, and acoustic mixes, adding a warm, handcrafted pulse. Its expressive low-end thump and nuanced slaps suit composers, sound designers, and hobbyists exploring hybrid percussion. Whether layering grooves or creating atmospheric beds, this instrument delivers a unique, earthy voice that sits naturally in any production.
