Fakin’ The Funk? is a standalone Windows audio analysis utility for producers, DJs and music collectors who want to check the quality of their files. It scans audio in batches to flag suspected bitrate mismatches and frequency limitations, helping you spot tracks that may have been converted from a lower-quality source rather than genuinely encoded at the stated quality. It also identifies corrupted or unreadable files.
A built-in spectrum analyzer displays frequency cutoffs, while the integrated player lets you listen before deciding what to keep. After checking the results, you can rename, copy, move or delete files to tidy your collection. Multithreaded processing helps speed up larger scans, and support covers popular lossy and lossless formats, including 24-bit audio and sample rates above 48 kHz.
Additional tools include optional clipping detection, ReplayGain calculation and a tag editor with search and replace. Drag-and-drop support makes it easier to work with Explorer or Mp3Tag. This is a separate library-checking tool, not an effect loaded inside your DAW.
