The Undertone Audio MPEQ-1 plugin recreates the company’s renowned analog hardware equalizer for Windows-based digital audio workstations. It delivers the same variable-shape filters, wide-range Q control, and unique Vari-Phase mode as the original, but adds a per-band saturation stage that lets you apply harmonic coloration independently to each EQ band. This means you can saturate highs while keeping lows clean, or push a snare’s fundamental into distortion without affecting the top end. The plugin also includes a built-in real-time analyzer with fine low-end resolution, and you can adjust bands either on the RTA or via a graphic representation of the hardware. A dedicated distortion section offers control over amount and style for each band. No presets are included. This tool is aimed at hobbyist producers aged 25-55 in the US, UK, Germany, Canada, and Australia who use FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic on Windows and want flexible, characterful EQ with band-specific saturation.
