VCV Rack 2.0.4 is a free standalone modular synthesizer for Windows that brings Eurorack-style patching to your computer. It suits hobby producers learning synthesis, sound designers building custom instruments, and musicians exploring generative rhythms and melodies.

Connect modules with virtual cables to create synth patches, perform in real time, or process live audio. More than 30 built-in modules provide a starting toolkit, while the VCV Library offers over 2,000 modules for expanding your setup. Polyphonic cables, patch recall, and module preset sharing make it practical to revisit ideas and develop more complex arrangements without a physical rack.
