VCV Rack v2.1.0 is a free standalone modular synthesizer for Windows that brings Eurorack-style patching to your computer. It suits hobby producers learning synthesis, sound designers building custom instruments, and musicians exploring generative melodies or algorithmic rhythms.

Connect modules to create synth patches, process live audio, perform in real time, or record multitrack pieces. More than 30 built-in modules provide a starting toolkit, while the VCV Library offers over 2,000 modules for expanding your setup. Polyphonic cables, module presets, and full patch recall help you develop ideas without the physical limits of a hardware rack.

For larger collections, the module browser includes zoom, favorites, and sorting. You can also save and share groups of modules, rearrange selections, and adjust room brightness for more comfortable late-night sessions. Version 2.1.0 adds a pitch-bend range setting to the MIDI-to-CV module and corrects its MPE pitch-wheel and modulation-wheel output behavior.

This edition runs independently of FL Studio or Ableton Live, rather than loading as a plugin. DAW plugin integration requires Rack Pro; hosting VST plugins inside Rack requires the separately purchased VCV Host.
