Verticale

Verticale is a virtual upright piano from Sonora Cinematic, captured both natural and felted for intimate, cinematic character. It runs in the free Kontakt Player 7 and stands out with four layers of felt—a rare depth for felt piano instruments. The natural patch is pure and warm, while the felt is rich and mellow. Three stereo mic positions (room, ribbon spot, condenser spot) give full tonal control, and a unique cassette signal adds pitch-shifted, warped lo-fi texture. Built-in FX include dual reverb and delay sends, a tilt-style Color knob, tape-style Crunch, and a Lo-Fi macro for bit and sample rate reduction. A mono option and deck control complete the vintage vibe. Perfect for lo-fi ambient, electronic, and experimental tracks, Verticale also suits composers seeking an emotive alternative piano sound for cinematic music.
