Viator DSP TeleVox is a free vocal effect plugin for creating the narrow, filtered sound of a voice coming through a telephone speaker. It suits hobby producers who want a lo-fi vocal texture for a verse, a contrasting backing part, or a phone-style spoken passage without building a separate chain of filters and distortion.
The controls let you shape both the frequency range and the character of the effect. Speaker Range adjusts the filter bank’s bandwidth to change the simulated speaker’s fidelity, while Center Frequency moves the focus of that band. Resonance emphasizes the center frequency, and Dirt adds lo-fi distortion. Separate Low and High tone filters provide further control over the tonal balance.
TeleVox is available as a 64-bit VST3 plugin for Windows and as AU and VST3 for Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. It fits Windows setups using FL Studio or Ableton Live, with AU support available for Logic Pro users on macOS.
